The Waltons 1st Season Review
They don't make TV like
this anymore. It's a shame but it seems they lost the touch that made the
Waltons a classic.
I didn't plan on watching them all, just reviewing a
few episodes. But then, there they were, the Walton family, like old friends,
distant kin. The feeling was warm like an apple pie just come out of the oven.
Now I watch one a night. Sometimes I could watch more, but I am trying to make
the experience last.

This picture is from the first season and the kids are still
young. Grandpa is alive. I know so much about them, about how their lives will
unfold. But on these DVDs, all is new, all is possible. |
The Waltons - First Season DVDs
The quality of these is
quite good. The picture is clear as a bell, better than I remember originally.
The sound is fine too. There are 5 DVDs which contain 24 episodes. So if you do
it like I am and watch one a night, that's 24 nights you can avoid Reality
TV.
The Waltons - Second Season DVDs
The set comes with 5
double-sided DVDs. Again, the picture quality is excellent. The sound is fine
too. There are 5 DVDs which contain 24 episodes. No Special Features
regrettably. The set includes the two part "The Thanksgiving" which won an Emmy
for Best Writing. There are so few shows associated with Thanksgiving but this
one is just exceptional.
