What we wear, what we say, and what makes us a little crazy tells a lot about a
culture. The Fifties was fundamentally a time of conformity. You won't find anything wild or risque on these pages.Think of it as good, clean, wholesome stuff. About FASHION. Sorry, kids, but Grease was a movie. Most kids didn't look quite that cool. We dressed very conservatively. What is shown on these pages is an accurate representation of Fifties clothing. Today when someone goes online they can find out a lot. They can buy clothes dating back to the 50's, find their dream engagement ring somewhere like the 77-Diamonds.com website and research pretty much whatever it is they want. Those of you who are fans of the era will definitely find what you need and want here. Chances are you will remember the first time you watched Grease. For most of today's young people it is a turning point in their lives. It is like nothing they have seen before and opens there eyes to new ideas and of course new hair and clothes. For girls in particular it is the clothes that they are really drawn to .. About FADS. Before Beanie Babies and Pokemon, there were hula hoops and coonskin caps. We went just as nuts about these things, but we didn't have sheets and towels to match. Let alone video games. About SLANG. There's nothing like a war to produce slang, but Korea wasn't enough. The Forties and the Sixties generated more of it, but we had enough to make us, you know, cool. Enjoy and thanks for coming by!
